If the last curse taught me anything, it's how hard civilian leaders have it. Sometimes, it's easy to get carried away with police work and forget that people spend so much energy keeping the peace in less visible ways...I'm grateful to those people. It is difficult, isn't it? Leading an army is easy. Some of the lowest minds of history have done it. Administering to the civilians in a way that ultimately frees them is the hard part.

You're quite right. I'm not certain I'd be cut out for civilian leadership in the long run, really...it wasn't too bad with the men from my dojo, but that's a very small scale and a borderline situation. I respect the skill it takes to lead civilians well.
