Oh, I can soooo sympathize, because I got involved in a SNAFU with FedEx (now resolved, thank goodness!) involving a delivery of a simple little $119 underwater ready point-and-shoot camera, for which the seller insisted on having a signature.

I hope that by now, you're too busy soaking in a nice hot tub after a long ride to be reading this.

lol. I wish! At 11:26PM I JUST finally finished up putting everything together with the bike. The majority of it took probably not even 2 hours, but I had a lot of trouble with a difficult brake cable and worked on that on and off since the bike arrived at 4:45ish this afternoon (FINALLY!). So unfortunately I'm not doing any riding tonight, unless you count the 7 feet I traveled forwards and backwards a few times in the living room, testing the brakes. ;)

I did not have words with the UPS guy, either. He apologized for not being able to just drop the bike off yesterday with the note and signature I left. He said they would have been able to leave it at that years ago, but not now with everything being digital. And he carried the package all the way to the garage too, which was nice.

I'm just happy to have my bike all assembled and ready to ride when time and weather permits! :)

Something that valuable though it's a comfort knowing that the company is requiring a signature. If the FedEx guy was able to just leave it and then some creep came along and took it then you would have been stuck with having paid for something you never got.

I had it happen to me with some stuff from Amazon that got delivered by the post office. I went to the P.O. and the snobby bitch didn't give a rat's patootie about my stuff. She delivered it, end of her sorry-assed lack of concern. Thankfully I was a long-time customer with Amazon and, I'm figuring, them being a big company, they can write off stuff like this, they resent my order via UPS with a signature verification.

Yeah, it is a good thing. I guess I was just frustrated at the time. I went into work 5 hours late on Thursday waiting around for the truck. My mom was on her way home and the UPS guy was there only 10 minutes before she'd gotten home. So I was aggravated. :P

I'm never worried about anyone stealing packages though. I live in a pretty rural area. You can leave your car unlocked with the keys in it and not worry! ;) I definitely understand though. Cuz it's always that ONE TIME you think nothing's gonna happen.

Same for me where I live now. I really don't worry about deliveries sitting on my front step out here in the cornfield. And if something does end up disappearing I'm confident the carrier here will be much nicer. If she has to bring something too big for the box up to the house and we're home, we'll have nice little chats.

And I was relieved when the FedEx brought my laptop to the door and required my signature.
