WTF...jury duty???

Got a jury duty summons in the mail today. What. The. Feck?! I had jury duty like five years ago!!! What the hell are the chances of getting it again??? I know people twice my age who have NEVER been summoned. Just my luck. I'm in school, and I have work and interning for cryin' out loud!!!! *groans* This. SUCKS.

*hugs* Aww man that sucks! My mom had it twice in about 5 years and yet we know a lot of people who have never gotten it! *rolls eyes* I don't think my dad has ever gotten it. Suckage!

I've only been summoned once, when my oldest was about 4 months old and nursing. I was excused on those grounds. She'll be 25 in March.

My husband's been summoned plenty of times, but he's a doctor and that is one of those occupations that is protected as necessary for the public good and can get an automatic excuse if they want it.

Gee, you'd almost think that you had something better to do. I mean,working, interning, school, writing fic (note that I listed them in order of increasing importance!) - what else would you do with your copious free time?

haha i've had jury duty three times and I'm 24!

but you can get out of it in australia by saying your a full time student with study comittments here... as in you won;t get the class credits etc.

Yup! And I'm actually still 23 ... 24 in a few weeks. lol! Its so bizarre, I got my first lot of jury duty a couple of weeks after I turned 18... as soon as I was legal. lol

apparently in Australia everyone is on a register and its just random stupid luck if you get it!

Yikes. Well, I wouldn't mind missing work, but if it's gonna get in the way of interning and classes, I'm kinda screwed. x_0;

Everyone is telling me that it doesn't matter, but occasionally they take that excuse. :( Which likely means I'm screwed. But I did talk to my Uncle Mike today, and he said he might be able to get me out of it for now, but I'd hafta do it another time, *shrugs* I'll keep my fingers crossed.
