As Jack unscrewed the cap off the apple sauce jar, he looked across the kitchen, watching Reg hold a bundle of blankets with a little tuft of hair peeking out from the top. Reg's posture and stance was stiff, as if he were afraid to drop what was in his hands should he move.
"Are you doing ok?" Jack asked. "I can take her after she has her lunch."
Reg looked up, eyes wide as if startled out of a daze. "No thank you. I would like to continue holding her if you don't mind. She looks comfortable."

Amelia in her excitement had run in front of her parents, flitting in and out of areas that caught her interest. When she stopped in front of a wide hutch, she ran back to her parents, pointing behind her. "Look, look at the bunnies!"
Her mother and father exchanged looks before Jack rested a hand on Amelia's shoulder. "Why, ah, don't we check out the pony rides first? Did you still want to do that?"
With a quick "yes!" Amelia started in the direction of the ponies, rabbits forgotten.

As it was, Aaron had someone else to tuck him in now, but that didn't stop Jack from arranging play dates between both his nephew and his son.
"No," he heard Steven's voice instruct bossily in a tone he could have only picked up from his father. "I get to be Han Solo this time."
"You were Han last time!" came the quick reply from Aaron. "Fine. I'll be Chewbacca."
Lifting up a very large, and very unamused cat, Steven grinned. "We already have a Chewbacca."
