I think I can hear it now.

"It's disgraceful! I mean, the fact that this information was published is an invasion of Mrs. Palin's privacy! ABC should be ashamed of itself and offer a full apology for this!"

Though I do wonder if this sort of contract is standard for such speakers.

The language is highly generic, so I'd assume so(if I were less lazy, I'd google "Washington Speakers Bureau" and see who else they represent).

The other thing that's really remarkable is that this got thrown away at all: it should have had a date with the shredder. Cal State probably has a bit of egg on its face as a result.

Really, my issue isn't with her demands in and of themselves, but rather in how it's at odds with her Jane Six-Pack Soccer Mom Everyday Image.

What office could she possibly run for? While she has an ardent public following and can make plenty of $$$ from speaking and television deals, Palin only has niche appeal, and she has a thousand red flags... including quitting her job as governor half way through. That last part is probably the thing that kills her for even something as basic as a safe congressional seat. No, Palin has gone as far as she's going to, though that unfortunately still means she's out their running her mouth.

On the other hand, I don't want Michelle Bachmann to get all the attention, either.
