19th Confession [Action/Voice]

[Aaaall right, so it's been pretty eventful lately. With Amelia and Milly popping up, like most people, out of nowhere, Wolfwood's busied himself with being shell-shocked at the latter and humored at the former (it really is all true, Amelia, promise). With Knives and Legato still MIA (perhaps they'd left entirely? but he's not one to hope on that ( Read more... )

The cold and the snow. [Mihai grins.] I'm not sure if I miss it or not now that it's gone.

Ugh, don't even get me started on all this cold weather. I'll happy enough to do backflips when the temperatures actually start to pick up. [grin] I never thought I'd miss anything about the desert, but I guess once you're used to something for so long, there are some things you can't help but notice feel wrong.

[The lack of blinding suns and invasive sand he likes-the sudden 10 degree weather he was thrust into? Notsomuch.]

Desert? [Mihai's heard of those, but he's used to the opposite.] The city I live in is always covered in snow. But I'll look forward to your gymnastic routine. Especially if you're carrying your cross at the time.

[But Mihai's not old enough to just be happy with stereotypical small talk for long. And last they spoke, Wolfwood was in an awkward position to say the least.] How is Miss Thompson adjusting to life here?

Ah, she's doing pretty well. A little surprised at first, but she's pretty damn good at adapting, as far as I've seen. Then again, most people from Gunsmoke are fantastic at adapting.

Where I'm from, you get all the seasons. And all the weather... Sun, snow, rain.

I'm more used to cities, though. It's been a long time since I lived anywhere this quiet.

Oh, yeah? I admit, it's pretty quite where I'm from. Most of the time. Unless you get a group of people trying to ruffle feathers, but other than that, just the sound of the wind.

[And my motorcycle. ;~;

I wish that thing could maneuver here.]

I do appreciate the animal sounds around here, though. Pretty relaxing, personally.

Mmm...it can be beautiful. I'd actually like to spend more time outside, now that it's a little less on the cold side.

I do miss the music, though. Back home, if you wanted to listen, you could find performers almost anywhere. Bars, concerts...street corners, even. I haven't seen too much of that, here.

Aaah, I see. Performers are in pretty short numbers back home, too. If you're lucky, one of the local places has a piano. [... or a saxophone player... :|;;] I haven't seen very many performers in Luceti, either; which is a shame, because we all need a few performers around here to keep us preoccupied.

[She was still getting used to this...strange journal thing. But to know the other Users would help her understand things. Gathering information--what she did best]

I come from the Grid. Electric light, mixed with darkness. We do not have a sun, nor...a desert, whatever that is.

We do have a Sea. The Sea of Simulation. Long ago poisoned.

The Grid...? Simulation?

I don't think I've ever heard of something like that. But how do you keep yourselves alive without any sun?

[Wait a sec, let him think on this--]

... or are you not from a planet?

No, I am not.

[Oh a quick learner]

I am a Program. Created by a User. The Grid...is a large computer system.

But it is a world, just the same.

A program.

Like one in a computer.

...

I gotta' say, that's new to me.

[Alas, Wolfwood will never be a technology person, so everything falls into the line of How does this work how does this work.]

[ his question, for some reason, gets a laugh. ] I still just like having sunlight.

Have there been a lot of new arrivals this time? I haven't managed to catch up with everything I missed yet.

Ohoooo, that's right. I was wondering where all the happy sunshine had gone recently-you weren't around; that explains it, huh?

[But teasing aside, he's gotta be serious for a sec.]

Are you doing alright?

[ all this flattery! Xion will never be used to it. she giggles, trying to work her way past the flush of pleasure and embarrassment she feels. ] Wolfwood! I'm fine. Really! And for the record, I definitely didn't bring any happy sunshine back with me. I woke up in the rain. [ makes a face, but she doesn't sound too upset about it. ]

Aahaaaa! I guess I'd better keep an umbrella on me, when I'm around you!

If you like sunlight so much, you'll just love my world. Two suns for an extra red sunburn, on the house.

[Wolfwood.

Sanji was giving you A Look before you walked in. And when you do enter the restaurant, he's practically leering in terrible delight.]

Yo, Wolfwood~! [I'm going to enjoy making your life hell from now on]

[...ugh, he called it. He totally called it. He even foresaw that icon, right there.]

Geeee, I wonder what that [tilde] happy hello was for.

[Just gonna. Take a seat right here at this bar.]

Having a nice day despite the dreary clouds, huh?

oda_hates_me March 16 2011, 22:19:15 UTC
Tch, takes more than clouds to fuck up a day. [Never mind Sanji's been stuck on dreary mode for the better part of the week, what with Naoki's departure. But that's neither here or there, is it?

Still grinning wide, he asks] So. What'll it be? [You're allowed a drink before the interrogating starts.]

[... Interrogating, huh. It's like he knows those brackets are going on right at this moment.]

Surprise me.
