Don't think there's much need to apologise. I've met a lot of downer kids. [They're like a staple of the Grand Line or something :|] Kind of a sucky childhood there, though.

I really wouldn't call it much of a childhood, but it's life, alright. [He leans on his palm, smiling. Maybe in exasperation. Maybe in bitter nostalgia. Even he's not sure.] ... I wasn't dealt the best hand, you could say.

He knows... aaaah, he knows enough. Knows what my job was, knows I killed pretty young on, all that stuff. I don't have the heart to tell him the guy I killed off the bat hasn't left me any regrets... but hey, that's just how some things go.

Actually, I drank quite a bit at that age. [He laughs, thoughtful.] Honestly, I haven't changed much since then. Well, besides learning a few handy social skills.

Well, you could say that. Vash and the girls are pretty decent friends, and now that I'm in Luceti, I've been getting my fair share.
