“It won’t. It really won’t,” he insists desperately, jerking away first from Ajedrez’s head and then Mal’s hand.
The tricky thing about attack from both sides is that running away from one just puts you at greater risk from the other. Sands leans his head back against the wall in compromise, closing his eyes.
It takes a moment for the scene in front of him to register.
With great care, and with barely a change of expression, he begins to slowly back away.

She glances over, and smiles at him. Bright and happy and it might not mean a thing.
"Oh, hey, baby, come to join us?"

Mal looks...suspiciously gleeful.
"We were just about to go for a drink, want to come?"

He inches back another half-step, eyeing the two of them warily.

And so it is that Sands has an arm captured by a curvey ex-girlfriend who is smiling at him with bright, bright eyes.
He really does pick them, doesn't he?"
"Come on, it'll be fun. Besides, you need to relax a little."

And so it is that there's a second girl on his other arm, also beaming up at him.
"She's right, you know. You're far too tense."

He backs away hastily, but somebody has built an inconvenient wall behind him. The only escape route is forwards.
Cautiously, Sands tugs his arms.

"It'll be good for you, Sands," and her quiet voice is a purr.
