Okay, good thing about tonight: movie night with Jack and Allie. Time to relax, eat some food (or drink some TruBlood, look, Kaidan didn't want to-- well, this needed to go right.) and watch some decent movies. That was a good thing. That very idea - and the amount of time he'd put into setting it all up - that was good

"No you don't. Trust me on that one. It wasn't nearly as much fun as..."

As what? Well sadly puppies couldn't talk. But they could yip as the small black puppy that nosed out of the pile of suddenly crumpled clothes proved.

"Allie!"

Kaidan stared at the bunch of clothes, then he looked up at Jack. "...she just turned into a puppy, didn't she?" he checked.

"It certainly looked like it," Jack said, relatively calmly. These things happened, after all.

He reached to pick the puppy up. "Hi, Allie."

Allie let him pick her up as she sniffed eagerly at his hands, wiggling all the while.

"Guess we're getting a pet for... however long this'll last," Kaidan said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Is she warm-blooded? I mean... you know. Not a vampire."

Jack sniffed, though he needn't have bothered. He could easily feel the warmth of the puppy's form. "Nope. Regular puppy. No need to buy special vampire kibble."

Thank Fandom for the small favors. Hopefully they'd be able to convince her to sleep when they did instead of keeping her usual late night hours.

Stretching as far as she could Allie tried to lick Jack's nose.

When she was back to normal they were never going to talk about this.

"And I guess now we know who she likes best," Kaidan said, but he was joking. "I'm going to pause the movie for a minute - we'll see if we can get her set up."

"Probably I smell like pack," Jack said, without thinking. "She's adorable. But yes, movie night can go on hold."

As if to prove how adorable she was - and if they were smart, neither of them would ever use that word when she was back to normal - Allie twisted and leaped from Jack's hands to the floor. There was another person to investigate.

Incoming puppy headbutt to the shin Kaidan aka Hi! Hi! Rub my head!

Kaidan blew out a sigh. He'd barely managed to turn off the movie before getting attacked by Allie. He reached down to scritch behind her ears. "Yeah, hello, Allie," he said wryly. "God, you're right, she's adorable."
