03. Pero yo ya no soy yo

I'd like to state for the record, such as it is, that I disapprove of the way certain therapy sessions are being run. There's something to be said, however, for real therapy, no matter where one finds it. Thanks to those who've helped me find it ( Read more... )

Ha! I doubt you can afford it on your salary.

Why not ask Wright to buy you some?

He's out of a job too, now. Can you believe it? It's like an epidemic!

And I still don't know who "you" is in your post!

I don't know about having the soul of a poet, but you may want to tone up on those stanzas there if you want to write like one, son.

And you didn't hear it from me, but seems like we'll have a strawberry shortcake session next week. More to your liking, hm?

The session wasn't so bad. It could have been more efficiently run, and I'm doubting its therapeutic value. However, I'll be the first to admit that I can be exacting where professionalism is concerned.

Strawberry--shortcake? Do I want to know what you mean by that?

Also, that wasn't a poem. Maybe you should read more poetry. It'll help you recognize one when you see it.

Ahah! You either close up completely or open up your soul to show everyone. You're a confusing man.

I'm sure you won't be surprised when I tell you I've heard that before. More than once.

Like I said, I'm trying to move from the one towards the other.

Maybe I'll slip in both directions before I find a middle ground. The perfect blend of dark and light can take a while to find.

The state is providing for individual therapy sessions now? I didn't hear that particular announcement.

No, they don't.

I meant the group therapy. The individual therapy is just a metaphor on my part. Though a lot more helpful.

Group...

How Cuckoo's Nest. Do they make you sit in a circle with nurses taking notes?

Cuckoo's Nest is a good way to put it. It's a little like that, yes.

They asked Gant to lead the session.

From what you've said, therapy certainly sounds interesting even if it isn't helpful. Maybe I'll check it out next time.

I'm glad you're getting what you need for yourself, wherever you've found it. Turning your thoughts toward others is always a good thing.

Your story is beautiful. I think that people sometimes read openness as being poetic because it's so rare - they don't know what to think about it.

I'm sure they'll end up making you go, sooner or later. You'll probably enjoy it more than I did. You don't have a temper like mine.

And thanks, Ken. Talking to you helps.

I'm glad you liked the story. You're a good listener. I appreciate that. Even if you did make me look bad on the court again today.

Hey, maybe if we split your temper between us, it'll be easier to handle.

I know you've got my back, even if I do give you a hard time on the court - I'm glad you know I've got yours.
