"Kid," Captain Christopher Pike asks, looking the boy up and down. "What did you think you were doing?"
"Fighting," he gets as an answer. "I didn't like his face."
"So you thought you'd rearrange it?"
The boy shrugs. "I like it better now, anyway," he says, and flops down on the staircase to look up at Pike. There's something oddly familiar about his face that Pike can't quite place; something about his eyes. "Anyway, it's just a fight, it's not like I was pimping myself or anything so I can go, right?"
It almost makes him nervous, how fast kids grow up these days. Taking another look at the boy, Pike figures that he doesn't even look to be in his teens- yet, he's already talking like this. Shaking his head, he moves to sit next to the boy. "I can't keep you here, no, but let's say I want to talk."
"Sure. What about?"
"You," Pike says. "Let's start with your name."
There's a sudden, unexpected grin from the boy. "James Tiberius Kirk," he replies, and that's when it all clicks.

oh my god Spocl. I fucking love Spock here especially, and Scotty, and everyone really. And your writing style. And the end. It made me want to stand up and cheer and clap.
IT IS DIFFICULT TO RESIST SID, THAT MUCH IS TRUE. plus, AU. AU is where it's at. Especially cool crime syndicate AU.

the most fun, though: it was gen. Big happy criminal family gen, and wow but I was craving that so hard in this fandom. (well, maybe sans the criminal bit. That was just an added bonus.)

But yeah! I like gen, humour and that sort of thing. Since, I, uh, utterly cannot write pairing fics to save my life. Implied? SURE but anything beyond that is just. HAHAHA NO. Same goes with smut, so I'm sort of by default a gen fic writer.
it's Tsuna from Reborn! Since prior to this fic I was... pretty much a KHR only writer? AND THEN I GOT BRIBED >_> wasn't even planning on ficcing for Trek, since I didn't think I had a good enough grasp of the characters, but, well, you know the rest.
