actually there are more than two women in command positions (not including TOS pilot) mentioned in Trek: Captain Rachel Garrett of Enterprise C, Yesterday's Enterprise, TNG episode. Major Kira was first officer of Deep Space Nine and upon the Emissary's disappearance/death/magically joining the prophets, became the commander of DS9; Captain Janeway; Subcommander T'Pol who is first officer of Enterprise. This does not include those above captain's rank like Admiral Nechayev

It's scary to think that, centuries from now, sexual standards will be those of current US network television.
