Does the pink-coated redhead really spend a whole episode looking like she's just been slapped in the face with a dead fish? Or is she still in shock from reading the script? I HAVE NO CONTEXT.
I'm not even British, but I get it, because I like Life on Mars, and one of the guys for the Daily Mail wrote Life on Mars fanfic as an article in which Gene Hunt was wandering around being shocked by things like gay police officers and non-smoking signs and racial diversity and sick leave, which is realistic for the character, but not terribly good evidence that those things are bad (anyone who watches Life on Mars will recognize that Gene Hunt is not supposed to be an unsullied font of wisdom), and I heard about it on the internet.
Also, because I once stumbled upon a debate as to whether golliwogs were cute and innofensive or racist and horrible, and someone invoked the Daily Mail. Meanwhile, all us Americans were were wondering if people just kept misspelling "polliwog" until someone explained the term (btw, polliwogs are cute and inoffensive, not racist and horrible.)

Essentially, yes, but at least watching her be a fish was better than watching the sex scenes.
