[She could only hold off for so long. But the second she saw a complete lack of recognition in the Doctor's eye, she ran out with her heart breaking. Her stolen gun was loaded up and her target's name echoed over and over in her head. She had to find him. She had to kill him to get her Doctor back. This town be damned, nothing was going to stop her

Legault had been content to go about his life, occasionally hiding out but normally simply going about his day.Eventually, though, he started getting paranoid. He knew his target. She wouldn't expect him. They'd threatened his family, their safety... he couldn't just ignore it.

That he's simply out on the streets is sloppy, but wherever Elizabeth is, she won't be hiding from him. He just has to find her.]

[River wasn't sure how long she had been hiding out. Minutes? Hours? Probably the latter. Then her luck paid off. There was her target, out in the streets. She knew she'd only have one shot at this, so it had to be a good one. One shot would be enough to give away her position. Keeping herself as obscured as possible, she poked the tip of her gun around the edge of the building. Using the top of the barrel as a guide, she aimed for his head and quickly fired, before ducking back into the shadows.]

[Unfortunately, he never sees it coming. Guns are not bows; bullets can't be dodged as easily as arrows. To River's credit, though, her aim is spot-on, and Legault doesn't feel a thing before the blackness. His body sways, then crumples to the ground, blood leaking out into the street.]
