Tekken - Bob

Aug 04, 2009 19:50

I haven't talked Tekken in here in a while.  Well, T6 is nearly out for lucky owners of PS3s (or whatever else this is available to play on).  There are some interesting-looking new characters, one of which is this guy named Bob.  There is a video of him fighting here where he shows off some of his moves.  That is a link to vote for him against ( Read more... )

Jeez, it took Namco long enough, since T6 has been out in Japanese arcades for, I think, well over a year now. Man, this is just one more reason for me to get that PS3 that I desperately can't afford.

A character named Bob in a fighting game?

I...*snorfle* I'm sorry. It's hard to take seriously. Maybe seeing him would be different, but...but...

"What should we call it?"

"How about 'Bob'"

"I'm not...calling...it...that..."

I guess they're trying to give him a very English-sounding name? Make him very American or something (even though he really should be Canadian, what with that lumberjack motif he's got ^^)

Omg, Titan A.E.! That was a part that made me laugh, too. Planet BOB. It would win.

The reason Tekken 6 is taking so long is because of the Bloodline Rebellion update, which added a plethora of new goodies (from extended customizations, balance tweaking, bonus stages, and so forth) to the vanilla version of Tekken 6. Throw in the fact that Tekken is an arcade game into the mix and it makes sense why it's taking so long for the game to come out.

Bob is meant to be a character that at first glance isn't meant to be taken seriously; however, he isn't that way when you get down to the nitty-gritty of his character (personality and fighting wise he's not to be taken lightly).

Anyways, NBGI is sneaky. Namco itself never promoted Tekken this extensively in the past and some fans at TZ have speculated that it has to do with the Bandai merger.

...I'm voting for Jin when his trailer appears. *crosses fingers that him and Lee won't have to fight*

Yeesssss, give us the goodies. I figured it was something like that, and I don't mind if it means that Lee will get a new accessory purple dildo strike attack.

I like the looks of Bob. I have a feeling he'll be one of my favourite characters in there.

I hope Jin and Lee don't fight in the trailers, either. I just know that Jin would win, even though I'll bet that Lee looks very fine when he does appear ^^

Lol, Bob. He reminds me a lot of Rufus from Street Fighter IV. XD

I thought I heard/read something once about T6 being available on the 360, too. If that's so, I must acquire it. Immediately. My brother still hasn't fixed his PS3 (that bastard), but he did just get a 360. I don't have the money to buy it ATM since I just got Fable II, but still. Tekken.

Mmmmm, Lee. I can't wait to see his story mode so I can answer two burning questions: 1)How much hotter has he gotten?, and 2)How can I turn this into homoerotic tension with Kazuya?

Yeah, the fact that it's only on systems that cost an arm and a freaking leg sucks...

Fable 2 does look fucking fantastic, though. I'm also loving the look of Folklore. I played the demo for it and I swear I fucking love the male character I could play. Damnit, I wonder if there is any slash out there for him... this fangirl has a one-track mind XD

As for Lee, the answers to your questions:
1) MUCH
2) The tension is already there

I have found one advantage to having a lack of money for gaming purposes: by the time we finally save up enough money to buy the expensive systems, they'll probably have been out for so long that there will have been a price cut or two. Huzzah! (That's how I got Persona 3: FES. It took me long enough to get it that the price dropped and the game had been re-released with an expansion mode ( ... )
