I might be missing something, but is there a reason that closing noscans_daily would close your own LJ account ?

What does "retire" actually mean?

Disable posting access?
Delete the community?
Abandon all efforts to moderate it?
Return it to the creator?

A fair question.

We're investigating the final fate of nsd depending on what LJ allows us to do in these circumstances.

As it currently stands we have no plans to delete the community, but we won't rule it out as a final eventuality.

Since we're opening up scans_daily to some no_scans content, and given the lack of anyone actually posting anything since February we're not seeing a mad rush of posts as being likely, but it would be irresponsible of us to abandon Moderator responsibility until posting is closed, so rest assured that we won't allow it to become a spam-haven in the meantime.
