Which female hero would you pick to add to the cast of Avengers 2?

Over at Comics Alliance there's an article looking at the possibilities for new heroes to join the cast of the next Avengers movie and ratings the chances. Looking at that list, what do you all think? Agree, disagree, think you've got a better choice? Keeping in line with the groundrules of the article, I'll have a go ( Read more... )

Yep- Asian-American Wasp please. Fun powers, adds diversity, personality type not yet represented on the team.

Maggie Q as Wasp!!! Wow! That would be awesome - Maggie Q can do the quips and the competence and the action with ease.

With the major age-gap between her and everyone else on the team, and with Clint having been around so recently, I think bringing Kate in would be just begging to have her slapped with a "Replacement Scrappy" sign.

I wouldn't object to an eventual Young Avengers movie, though...

I'm actually curious as to whether they're gonna introduce the concept of mutants at all to the MCU. We've had six movies and it hasn't been mentioned at all. I know there's tons of mutants they still have the rights to and can use but maybe they just decided it's too much trouble and aren't going to at all/are gonna wait? That's something I'd like to know.

As for who I'd like to see - Ms. Marvel, hands down. Will it happen? I'm not holding my breath, honestly.

They would need to do a deal with Fox for using mutants

My hunch is that Squirrel Girl is not part of the Fox (not Sony - that's Spider-Man) deal, because she was only established as a mutant in Slott's GLA miniseries, significantly after the deal was signed (sometime in the 1990s). They just won't be able to call her a mutant, but that's cool.

Although I am a massive Squirrel Girl fan, I think the movie would suck if she was in it, because they would totally defeat Thanos within five minutes and then just sit around for the rest of the two hours chatting about stuff. No, wait, I do want that film...

I actually had an idea for giving her a cameo in Avengers without having her be too disruptive, more of a mythology gag for the fanboys; it'd probably work for Avengers 2, too.

Short version, Tony's waiting at the gate of Avengers Mansion, due to security guys who are being a pain. There's a bunch of fans and papparazzi camped out in front of the gate, hoping to see their heroes, and one of them is a girl with something big and bulky (and occasionally twitching) tucked inside the back of her shirt and a squirrel on her shoulder; she comes up to Tony and just completely fangirls over him. Tony gives her an autograph and the most polite brush-off he can, and looks very relieved when the guards finally let him in.

Then, once inside, he tells Fury, "We gotta do something about those people camping outside the gate." Fury chuckles, "So you met the squirrel girl, huh?" "You KNEW about her?!" "Who do you think told the guards to make you wait? *smirk*"

And then on with the movie.

I like. But looks like no Avengers Mansion - they're going straight to Avengers Tower. :-(

I will note that Angie Harmon has just started a Twitter campaign to get cast as Shulkie for Avengers 2, even going so far as to post this on there:

Gee, just one, huh?

Although I do like the idea of Wasp. I loves me some She-Hulk.*MUST BE BUFF! <3

And I still think Wonder Woman deserves a movie, dammit.

It makes me wonder if the Lou Ferrigno approach could be successfully used for She-Hulk next to the CG Hulk.

Edit: Also, that is an odd picture. I realize it's some kind of mask, but it looks like her hair is trying to eat her head.

IMO the CGI only works because he only Hulks out for fight scenes. Quick movements and all that.
