Found this article on the current whereabouts and condition of former Marvel Comics scribe Bill Mantlo, best remembered for Micronauts and ROM.

I pretty much had to stop reading as soon as I saw the word "CIGNA," because I knew it would make me explode in a rage.

For a fan my age, Mantlo was one of the people who defined "the Marvel Style" of writing. (For better or worse.) As much as guys like Claremont or DeMatteis. His work was influential just by dint of being everywhere.

It was nice to see that Floating World went to bat for him. I don't shop there much because I'm rarely in downtown PDX these days, but I believe they've always had a good reputation hereabouts.

I read this the other. One of the most depressing read I've done in a while.
