Just came back from X-Men: First Class.

I just came back from X-Men: First Class. Here are my thoughts on the movie.

My opinion of it is...mixed.

I admit I didn't think that this movie would have turned out to be good but with all the reviews so far, it seems that it did.

5. January Jones had Emma Frost down pretty well

I couldn't see her as Emma Frost. At all. Unless, and I'm grabbing the idea with all my might, she was playing everyone for some personal motivation. There was just nothing there of comics!Emma, even the Wolverine: Origins Emma had more spine.

That really is my only complaint about the film. I loved the cameos!

I think that's been the problem of many of the heroines in the superhero movies. Characters who are strong and are far more capable are...not very capable and strong. Jean Grey and Mary Jane comes to mind.

4. Banshee's powers were not used effectively.

Uh... What? Using his powers as a sonar in addition to the usual "kaboom" effect was a very good idea, I thought.

I hadn't hear of the on-set scandal and actually didn't know any of the actors except Kevin Bacon before watching the movie, I think it made my watching experience all the better.

6. Azazel, who had a few good scenes but he's pointless. They want a classic teleporter character? Hello, Vanisher!

I think they wanted a character that can be hinted as being Kurt's father... with Mystique as his mother. He's got the same teleporting sig' and the tail.

Banshee is way more powerful then the way they used him.

I figured that's why they chose Azazel but the Vanisher would have worked way better.

Where was Logan in the 60s? That was before weapon x, wasnt it?

He'd have been still hanging around with Victor, Striker didn't approach them till during the Vietnam War.

All they show is that he's in a bar, but yeah, before Weapon X. He could've been anywhere, really.
