What's Your Cross-Universe OTP?

Dec 06, 2009 03:29

Greetings True Believers! I had this knocking around in my head after reading a posts and threads. What characters from different universes would go well together? Think of this as kind of the opposite end of the spectrum from a "Who Would Win In a Fight?" post ( Read more... )

humor, wonder woman, cross over, captain america, otp

Took the words out of my mouth, Steve and Diana are my comic cross-OTP. I think someone here said once that it would be sweet to have a story set in WWII era where Steve Rogers crashlands in Themyscira and meets Diana.

They would be perfect!

"My god, everything would be covered in stars and stripes. Prettiest. Babies. Ever!
Artists take note of this and start designing a costume for this kid!

Also I kind of had a thing for Ben Reilly and Lois Lane in that one Marvel/DC crossover comic, they had a spark and even Ben was going to ask her out (until he saw the ring on her hand that she was married).

As for non-comic cross-OTP, it's Link and Samus Aran (not necessarily romantic) it puzzles me because it doesn't make fucking sense (and they wouldn't have anything in common) but damn they would be so kick ass together. Also the whole magic and science, future and past feeds my love for mismatched things and opposites, then there's the fact that they would make a giant anachronism if they visit each other's world.

That would be me. And in all seriousness, it's like the most obvious intercompany crossover storyever, and I think it speaks to DC's epic ambivilence towards continued inability to handle the Wonder woman property that it hasn't happened.

Huntress and Daredevil? Huntress and Daredevil! Almost inevitable in it's both it's smexiness and the melodramatic tragic end in blood/tears. It seems obvious, in hindsight.

I think Diana might be just a touch too otherworldly for Cap but I could be wrong. They'd certainly make a great power couple and stay tremendous friends, even if they did break up after a long courtship.

And what's the total opposite of an OTP? I always imagine Iron Man and Batman loathing the shit out of each other in increasingly hilarious, snarky ways.

I'm really not any good at this (not much of a 'ficcer) but I'll try to throw at least one out there:

Lady Blackhawk/Wolverine - Both can remember the 40's, love beer and she could lighten him way the fuck up while he could get her back in bar brawls. Good times!
(I'd say Lady Blackhawk/Captain America but it's a bit on the nose, innit?)

And while certainly NOT an OTP, I think an Oracle/Iron Man relationship would be one helluva an entertaining car crash of to watch. :P

You keep Logan away from Zinda! She's got enough troubles without his Black Widower curse smacking her about.

You know what I can see?

Zinda/Winter Soldier. I don't know why but the image clicks in my head.

Then why'd she sleep with a Green Lantern?

Actually, what I'd really like to see is a non-powered "observer" character from each universe hang out and talk about the different manner in which they view their heroes. Say, Ben Urich and Lois Lane go out for a friendly beer or something.

I actually blame this comm for putting the idea in my head, since people talk all the time about the differences in Marvel civilians vs. DC civilians. ;)

That would be cool, really. I like support characters and how they handle things as is.

Somewhere in Manhattan, there is a framed sketch by Neal Adams that features Captain America and Wonder Woman.

Years ago, I went with my sister to visit her friend in the Village. The friend had this framed sketch. It seemed she went to school with one of Neal Adams' children and he came to the classroom one day and drew for the kids, which included the Cap/WW sketch. It was a pencil sketch only but it was fabulous.
