Greetings True Believers! Curses! I'm being forced to cut my pull-list down the bare bones to save money. Rent, bills, food and smokes are consuming my resources and I'm trying like hell to get more work ( Read more... )

While Wednesday Comics is $3.99, I'm pretty sure the other DC titles I get are still $2.99. I try not to focus too much on what's going on with the cover price since doing that almost drives me insane with everything else I buy. Though, given how comics are going lately, I sometimes feel that the companies are just trying to help out in making me not want to buy a lot of things. I'm down from my old $20+ to rarely hitting $10 a week(often only getting one or two titles).

Definitely. I only buy in trade paperbacks, and I'm buying much less of those. Thank god for the public library.

Motto. At least one of my local libraries trade selcetion is really, really good.
It's so lame, all I buy is Secret Six because I just can't not, though I did buy Detective Comics in a moment of weakness (cancelled out by getting a JSA poster for less than half price?) but I don't even buy many trades anymore, the reality of living on what I can earn rather than on a student loan is pretty rubbish.

It's so bad at the min, since I'm going away I've got to try save for a load of subscriptions because I hate gaps.

And my list seems to be getting bigger and bigger D:

I had a heart attack yesterday when I went to buy Blackest Night, could only see the variants which were £7.99. Nice variants and all but £7.99?! And the two Ce's that I get had the price upped :(

*sigh*

I just couldn't justify buying it for that amount, because by the time the next one comes out it goes down to £1. So I would be kicking myself :D

But god, Zombie Aquaman kicks ass.

Most of DC's books are $2.99 still. The $3.99 books are the ones with co-features in them, such as Booster Gold/Blue Beetle and Adventure Comics, which is Superboy/Legion of Superheroes. The Blackest Night mini is $3.99, and some of the 3-issue tie-ins have been as well.

I definitely feel the pinch. I lost my job in May and have no income currently. I really shouldn't even be buying comics, but they're kind of my sanctuary from all the fail going on in my life right now.

I'm not feeling the crunch money wise, but I just bought two shortboxes and I've filled them already. A lot of stuff in there is stuff that I wouldn't really choose to read again, so I'm thinking about what should get cut from my list. There's a few titles that don't really excite me any more, so they're probably due some binnage.
