Did I not mention the heat at some point when you first mentioned moving to the South? I thought I did, and if I didn't, I was remiss. My sister lives in Georgia and I hate going there in the summer. It's hot here in Kentucky, but it's like driving into hell in July and August in Georgia. Just sayin'.

not that it's at all hot in England (zomg 24C and it's a heatwave) but I'm learning that mint syrup + lemon juice + lots of ice + soda water is quite a refreshing drink. You can add rum or whiskey too if you really need a pick me up. That's about all I can offer on heat coping.
Excellent to hear the dog came back. It knows who the best owner is - one who doesn't let her run away! Come to Colorado - we have heat but it's dry and there are lovely mountains you can escape to.
