I may yet become a Yankee! (Or whatever you call the people who live in Georgia).

Ohdearlord, NOT a Yankee! So sez someone who lives in the midwest, and was called Yankee with a great deal of derision when she lived in Georgia as a child. So yeah, watch out for that one.

Oh, and make sure you have a specific address for the hotel (which I am sure you would do anyhow, being a resourceful, intelligent nos), because pretty much EVERY street in Atlanta is Peachtree. No lie. My dad has a print that an artist's rendition of Atlanta, an drunning through it is a HUGE street that just says Peachtree.

If you like Coca Cola, the Coke Museum is fun. Some history, and lots of samples of international Coke products to drink. I don't know downtown all that well, unfortunately - haven't lived there in forever, or visited in about 8 years.

*sends positive interview/travel energy*

Do not call any Georgians Yankees. You will not get the job if you do that. :P

Fingers crossed that you get the job if it's what you want. If you do get the job, be prepared for a bit of culture shock. You would definitely NOT be a yankee if you're living in Georgia, which is considered the deep South. In fact, in the South the Civil War is still called the War of Northern Aggression. Of course, they might consider you a Yankee once you get there because you'll be sure to "talk funny" coming from the north. *G*

It's hotter than heck right now, too, so be prepared for that. We're talking blistering.

As for sights, there are lots, the Aquarium, the zoo, all kinds of interesting things. My sister lives in Macon, which is about an hour and a half south of Atlanta. Personally, I'd never want to live there, but that's just me.
