My personal #1 is the courtroom scene in Speranza's "Enduring Distance" when Fraser has his breakdown. *hearts*

I know this is possibly the saddest fucking story in the fandom (aside from Kat's End of the Road)

For some reason, I've read "Exposures" again and again, and I can't bring myself to read "End of the Road" all the way through (which is another sad thing, because what I have read is brilliant). They're two different kinds of sad, I guess, and one where they're both happy until the end of things is bearable.

Hmmm, I totally get that - they really are two very different brands of sad. "Exposures" really is about a kind of love that lasts beyond death, and "End of the Road" is about love being eclipsed by the realities of life. And I think the latter is much more tragic :-(

"Exposures" doesn't even read like sadfic to me. If only one of them had died--even if the only one had been Dief--then I'd have serious trouble reading it, no matter how well-done it was.

Yay! It's so great to hear that I've (hopefully) turned you on to some new stuff. These really are classic stories, most of 'em, and even the ones that aren't sure are memorable and sexy and fun and moving. You've got some great reading ahead of you!
