Oh. That's just so amazing. So beautiful and painful, and the ending completely hit me like a sudden shock.

The stars were still bright in the first rosy blush of dawn, and she watched them spin overhead. Her eyes drifted closed, Ben’s heartbeat pulsing in her ears.

I really love that part, but all of it is so wonderfully written. I don't have the words for how much I love this.

Just.... wow

See? now you went and made me feel sorry for Victoria. :) No, that's not a fair accusation because I always kind of felt sorry for Victoria, but you made her beautiful.

The ending is, of course, wonderful.

Thanks! Victoria deserves a little sympathy, I think. And she's beautiful in her ugliness, if that makes sense. I'm very glad you liked the ending. Thank you for the great feedback.

Wow!

Such a strong sense of delirium and trying to lose herself, but then that last line changes everything and brings the world back into focus.

Thank you! I'm glad that last line worked - I thought it might be too much but it seemed like a logical way to end things.

Oh, MAN, this killed me. Absolutely beautiful, as usual, and with such a wicked twist at the end.

I noticed one tiny typo: "half-light of early dawm." It's possible that I read things too closely.

Yay! I'm glad you liked it! And thanks very much for catching that typo - your mad close-reading skills remain unchallenged. *hugs*
