What psychic trauma would be inflicted upon your son if his father had black pubic hair, a pot belly, an apendectomy scar, and his right testicle hung lower than the left? And your son's pubic hair was brown and he had a nice flat abdomen without a surgical scar, and his left testicle hung lower than the right ( Read more... )

See, people think I'm an incredulous smart ass when I say that if I want my son to look like his father, MAYBE I should get him colored contacts or dye his hair. Personally, those things would probably be less traumatic for a newborn than having such a sensitive part of the body removed, and this is also something obvious. I don't know who would care about the baby looking like his father--even Alex thinks this is a ludicrous argument for getting a baby circumcised.

By the way, I sent him a post of circing done, and he's not said a word. :)

And our son has the choice, and choosing is fine because it's HIS body.

damn right it his choice :) i see NOTHING wrong with someone choosing that they want to be circumcised, after experiencing sex and being informed, of age, etc. just like you wouldn't want your pre-teen to get her tongue split to be punk rock like her friends, or stretch her ears...circumcision is a body modification and shouldn't be done to "fit in" or when the male doesn't know the lasting effects of the procedure.
sounds like alex is being reasonable!

I talked to Chad about this subject last night and he told me that he was under the impression that it was done for cleanliness purposes. I said well maybe back in the day of the bible when they didn't have running water and showers in every house...but now I don't see how it even applies, because most people in modern society are have easy access to theses means of keeping themselves clean.

Well anyway...he is circumsised and I asked him what he thought if we were to have a little boy...he couldn't really answer, but he told me he wanted his foreskin back because he has heard that uncircumsised men have more pleasurable sex. I wonder if this is true...and if so I also wonder if that was 'more' of the reason that men were required to have it done in the bible, than for cleanliness purposes.

Also, I got to thinking last night after we talked I have NEVER seen a uncircumcised penis...is that weird or what?

yeah, cleanliness is a myth. if you lopped off all of your vulva, you would be easier to clean too. but i'm certain you've never had trouble keeping yourself clean despite your natural vagina. same goes for dudes.
i think it's superfantabulous that you all are discussing this topic before you have a son :) THAT'S the love for the unborn i was talking about here.
my husband is interested in getting his forskin back too. i just ordered a book on how it's done. i'll post about the restoration process sometime.
also, in the comments of that post, you will se a picture of an uncircumcised dick (i know you're at work, so i don't want to repost them in this comment!)

forskin restoration...didn't know that was a possible surgery...wow!

Also, I never knew it was a common practice at one time for women to be circumcised...

no no, not surgery! it's a (painless) process of stretching the foreskin...i'll post about it in detail tomorrow or so. it's a great option to have!

Amen, sistah.

My hub is intact, and said no one ever stared in the lockerrooms. Boys that age are so frightened of being labelled a 'fag' they wouldn't dare. :P

i was thinking about that when i wrote this actually...how the old "looked at funny in the locker room" bit would seem less likely in this age haha!

that "but his dad is cut" arguement always seemed ridiculously stupid to me; all the excuses are stupid, but trhat one most transparently so. What they are really saying is "I dont want to deviate even one mm from what everyone else is doing, I'm cut and its good enough for me its good enough for him. I can't think for myself"
