A colleague of a footballer who killed two kids in drunk driving celebrated his new goal by publicly expressing support for his friend. The football club then issued an official statement of an 'apology':
"He regrets that his actions were wrongly misinterpreted."
Wrongly misenterpreted, eh? Double negative usually means "correctly interpreted". Go on

I remember the last French WWI vet's speach last year. He didn't want any publicity around the fact that he was the last survivor. He simply said that it was his luck, not his privilege. And that we need to remember them all together, those who died as much as those who lived. He passed away a month later in his small town.
