...ways of protesting against Fred Phelps's hate church that is. I mean, even Christians hate that guy for making them look bad.

Also, there was this dude who was actually dancing around the Phelpsfolk. They were so repelled they stopped protesting! (That was outside a bar, too.)

It's somewhere on youtube...

Look on the upside.

If people had to choose between Phelps and gays about 99.9% would rather be gay.

I can never remember anyone who was gay showing that much hate towards other people.

The man truly needs some serious help.

Another awesome/heartening thing is how he actually unites people!. Like a whole town against him, for instance.

In Valdosta Georgia there was a funeral for a serviceman killed in Iraq. when rumors began to circulate the hatemongers were going to show about five thousand people showed up, including a few hundred bikers, and a lot of truly pissed off vets.

The entire route from the church to the gravesite was lined with people.

Someone said Phelps' people showed up, looked around at the bikers, and then very quietly went away. I have no idea if the last part is true or not, but the man had decidedly put himself on the wrong side of a lot of arguments

That is so cool and heartwarming as well.

I envy the folks who showed up and then who had drinks and a good meal to mark their victory afterward. Must've been nice.

I wonder why Phelps thought it was best to go away? Could it be that he wasn't convinced he would be automatically protected since he was doing "god's work"?

Or maybe enough people showed up to show him that he only had the divine right to nothing else than being an asshole.

I'm glad he Phelps lost. It's good to see that homosexuality is becoming more accepted and less "violently rejected".
