OH GOD WHAT KIND OF INSANE CROSSOVER AM I PLANNING SHOOT ME NOW BEFORE I DO THIS NO SERIOUSLY

Jun 07, 2009 20:55

No seriously. Shoot me.

This came to  me after reading Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina for the umpteenth time. Because for some reason, that book never gets old for me, even though I picked it up in sixth grade six years ago. God I am such a nerd.

For some reason, I started putting characters from Eyeshield 21 into the story. I am so sorry...no not ( Read more... )

classic literature, oh you, kill me now, rambles, crossover, fanfic, anna karenina, eyeshield 21

I have never read Anna Karenina, I admit it. But reading the summary you gave, and the character list thus far. Ahahaha, yes. ♥

(this also only serves to remind me, once again, how goddamn far behind I am in reading Eyeshield. I tend to go on again, off again when it comes to keeping up with scanlations and I think the last chapter I read was 289 *fails*)

It's such an interesting and deep novel. You should read it if you get the chance, although it's ridicuolously huge, it comes in four volumes that total up to almost one thousand pages. I have it all bound in one book with a foreword and an index for all cultural references as well as translation for all the Russian, French, English, and Itallian phrases used in the dialouge.

...Yes, it is a somewhat tough read.

(Eyeshield is such a beautiful manga series. I love it. Only I forgot how much exactly I loved the anime until I got two of my younger brothers hooked onto it a week or so back, and I forgot how hilariously crackier the anime was and that it totally needed to come back. Also, you really need to catch up. I use OneManga, because new scanlations come out with every new Shonen Jump, seeing as it's now a weekly series. I think a group called Franky House subs it, and a new chap comes out there every Friday or Saturday.)

(Also your icon is beautiful.)

It's ridiculous how insanely hooked I got on Eyeshield. I remember Viz had a preview of the first chapter in the American Jump just after they licenced it and I wasn't super impressed but Hiruma intrigued me. I swear that's how everyone gets hooked on this one (because, really, football? :\) Hiruma's shear WTF draws you in and then the mind-numbing cute of EVERYONE ELSE doesn't let you go.

And I can't believe it's still going. Last time I stopped reading the Chrismas Bowl had just started. I just checked Manga Helpers (which is one of the sites I'd been using to keep up with it) and they're up to 332 now. Are they still in the middle of that game? XD (As far as I know it's always been a weekly series, though)

(I has many adorable Eyeshield icons. Also, Sena/Juumonji. I ship it ♥ XD)

The characters are all so quirky and adorable. I love them. Except for the Teikou Alexanders being manga tropes but those were bound to come up with eventually.

If I wasn't afraid of spoiling you I'd tell you, but the only thing I'd say is that the Christmas Bowl is indeed over.

((Sena/Juu? Adorable. Although I'm the standard Sena/Shin shipper, Sena/Juu is just cute. Hell, Sena is good with more or less everyone (he is so the fucking bicycle of this series, and I love him for it). ...Although there is there is this one point in the story where a genial, somewhat innocent landowner flirts with Kitty while she's pregnant with Levin's child, and this causes embarrassment for both her and Levin, leading Levin to perform an embarrassing scene and kick him out of the house. LOL.))
