Title: Ex Aequo Rating: G, gen Word count: 1606 Summary: Sam moves into a Stanford dormitory and stands in the hallway, watching the hustle and bustle.
oh, this is good. :> i love the glimpses into sam's earlier school days, how he learned to tell who went in which group and who he should be wary of, and how he realizes now that everyone's in the same boat and it doesn't matter. for once he's just like everyone else, and for the same reason.
Thank you! That's exactly it--that nothing that's gone before matters, that they've all got a clean slate. Because it's true, and it just took Sam a little while to figure it out. And I don't have any idea why I spent so much time thinking about school in August. *grin*
Wow, what a great story! I can really see Sam, so used to being at a disadvantage, taking a while to realize that everyone's in the same position as him, now. Lovely.
Thanks! That's what I was trying to convey, how Sam was expecting to be lost and confused and two steps behind everybody else, but he isn't, and he finally figured it out.
Like I've said -- you seem to have Sam's number, have crawled inside his skin and made yourself at home. I just love these quiet moments, not all fireworks and gunplay, simply solid clean lines worked masterfully. My pleasure to read.
I don't know. I've been thinking of making my 'mood' icons all SBs, because somehow I think it's funny that no matter what kind of mood the bear's in, it's face is always cheery. Nice project for me for winter. Snuggle Bear mood icons. Won't take long.

I'll certainly have a day at school tomorrow; not too sure about the 'great'!

And every time I see Snuggle Bear... The expression on his/her/its face. Need I say more?
