Downton Abbey Season 3 ramblings

I am very excited that Downton Abbey is back, both for itself and also because this means I will be able to return to the Downton Abbey fandom parts of the internet. Or at least some of them.

So here are my rambles, sorted by character, with many parenthetical notes. Spoilers for the first two hours (which was shown as one episode where I am) of

They obviously showed the first two episodes. I loved the C/H moments in those 2 eppies! Sitting together at the wedding = ♥ Plus he does apologise for his behaviour and snapping at her and ask again if something is wrong. I won't say too much, but surely you'll feel it next eppy!

Also can't say too much about anything else!

I didn't like Martha. Very ho-hum and very forced. Her lines were corny and everyone's reaction to her was stupid.

Bates and Anna? YAWNSVILLE. WHO CARES?!!!!! Drama for drama's sake. Flogging a dead horse, springs to mind.

M/M were particularly HORRID.

And Mrs P was particularly AWESOME.

Yes, the sitting together all by themselves in the pew (was everyone else too afraid of them to sit there?) definitely was shouting C/H pretty loudly.

Mrs P was awesome. Awesome with Daisy and Mrs Hughes both.

Matthew was a selfish idiot in these two episodes. I was hoping he was more over the GUILT, ALL THE GUILT about Lavinia than he apparently is.

I have, and I am! (There is a half-finished post for episode three languishing on my hard-drive that only ever got as far as an extended rant about Sir Anthony). I really liked how much time that story got in the episode, and particularly that they chose to finish off the episode with it. I thought it rather adorable how much Carson was worrying, and I'm so glad they really showed us that multiple times. The whole checking of the clock and bustling about being nervous
