Sorry I couldn't comment on the last chapter, the dogs decided to kill the computer so I had to get a cheap as chips one as money is beyond tight but I can't do without my calzona and lost girl fixes.....or any other of my addictions

Also, I LOVE that my writing has made you get all soapboxy....I mean, pretty awesome that it makes you think about things beyond just the story. That's the biggest compliment I could get, i think. :)

I definitely had a scene in mind where Sofia met her grandmother and got defensive of her moms, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to involve her or not...or maintain her innocence in the whole thing, you know? I'm still undecided if anything like that might happen.

Also, your point about Carlos is definitely accurate -- I feel the same way, that although he's completely supportive, he's also "letting" this sort of thing happen, too. I can say, that is definitely going to come up again in future chapters ;)

I love this chapter!

Agree with all debblue's comments; she said a lot of what I was going to say. I want to see Carlos stop trying to be a peacemaker and take a real stand. I want Lucia to have some real consequences for her choices; it's the only thing I can see at this point that will start to push her to reevaluate her thinking.

And although Sofia's young, I think she's had enough love & support to be resilient enough to be ok if she found herself in a situation where she ended up defending her moms. Would love to see Lucia eventually wanting some sort of relationship - again, no turning into a full-on PFLAG banner waver; just enough movement to be able to have forgiveness & forge a relationship - and it be SOFIA who's the firmest in setting boundaries. Children are forgiving, (sometimes too much so) so I'd see her wanting to give Lucia a chance; I can also see her having really clear boundaries, almost to the point of wise beyond her years.

I'm really glad you liked this chapter! I was nervous about this one, I'll admit.

I definitely feel like there will be more to the Carlos story here -- I agree with what you've said as well. I haven't quite figured it out yet, but I have an idea.

And like I said to debblue too, I'm on the fence about what I want to happen with Sofia. I like some drama, but I also like their happy little pink bubble. But I agree, I think that kid could and would stand her ground in that kind of situation -- she's already wise beyond her years, I feel, and there's no way she hasn't inherited that fiery spirit from BOTH moms.
