Yes, the "economic morality" of the likes of Andrew Carnegie was, if it existing, heavily larded with noblesse oblige. Give me your first-born, lady, and here's a nickel for your trouble. But by all means let's blame the current troubles on the uppity underclass and their insatiable appetite for mocha lattes.
