In Sum: Loki and Thor are actual brothers by way of their mother, Jord, which causes Loki to be considered the insane, bi-polar, overprotective little brother that follows Thor around.

Watching Thor and Loki interacting with each other was almost like watching a man and his dog. A man with a dog going through puberty.
Steroid enhanced puberty.
Which was pretty bad considering that a normal dog going through normal puberty was extremely destructive, hyped up like a two year old on two kilos of candy and pretty uncontrollable unless it's training sticks. And that would have to be some really, really, damn good training ( ... )

On Asgard, Loki's magic is bound and he is made to go through some kind of awful Asgard family counseling type stuff. To further annoy him, Asgard seems to be going through a phase of endless partying and everyone here seems to love the Avengers except him.
To make things worse, he ends up sleeping with Tony Stark after Loki decides to join in the drinking one night when Stark accuses him of being too chicken to loosen up.
So basically, the Avengers visit Asgard, Loki is sulky, everyone loves Steve and Tony is annoying.
