A/N: I thought this prompt was actually really, really nice. So, I filled it! This is what I've been working on all day (besides math...) and I'm actually really, really, proud of it! So I hope you like it too, OP!

Tony Stark was never a fan of children. Even as a child himself he found others to be rather annoying. He did not like to play on the playground or eat at crowded lunch room tables. Children always asked too many questions and, for some ungodly reason, their hands were always sticky. Always. Especially when they were around very expansive, very sensitive, equipment. But just because Tony did not like children did not mean he disliked his own kids. Because, yes, he had them ( ... )

Oh wow, brutal stuff -- Tony's terror and fury and grief at his kids being taken were so powerful, and Loki's response to the Baron literally awesome. Fantastic.

I'm enjoying this so far, but, um... the 'bitch' thing. Could you not? I know Tony's a bit of a playboy, but I don't recall seeing such blatant misogyny from him anywhere. :/

Please don't apologize your story is awesome and I thought Stark calling his ex a bitch was completely acceptable. A use of an epithet such as bitch does not a misogynist make.

But wouldn't any father, misogynistic or not, be angry at the woman that took away his children? I'm sure most people wouldn't think twice about calling someone who only let them see their kids for a week every YEAR a bitch.

Great story A!A :)

Bitch is a misogynist slur.

I'd rather not see wank happen here, so we'll leave it at that.

I've often seen it used for men too . But whatever.

It's used for men only when people are trying to insult their masculinity. It's still misogynist at its core.

It probably is. Though I've seen it used when referring to things having /nothing/ to do with masculinity (though more often then not they are) and bitch being worn as a sign of strength by some women so maybe its just how I was raised viewing the word. Don't get me wrong I view it as highly offensive yet at the same time young women near my area also viewed it as something other then an insult.

Personally? I don't use it but I can forgive someone who does use it in a fit of anger when that anger is /justified/. Because we're all flawed and one word doesn't mean a person is a misogynist when their not even thinking about what their saying.

Reclaiming is one thing - the word coming from the mouth of a man to describe a woman he feels has wronged him? Quite a different situation.

I also wrote up this comment: http://norsekink.livejournal.com/1457.html?thread=8462513#t8462513 though in all honesty it's more directed at the other anon than at you - I was in a bit of a tiff when I wrote it up, so it sounds more angry at you than it should. I apologize for that. - but if you're interested in a little more about why I find the word bitch to be unacceptable when used as an insult toward women (or men, really) rather than a reclaimation for women...
