Jane/Thor or Jane/Other, nurse!Jane

I found it a little bit insulting that Jane was 'updated' from a nurse to an astrophysicist in the film, because nurses are amazing. They have one of the hardest jobs around. They work long hours in conditions that can be extremely confronting (and on occassion, dangerous), and they care a huge amount about helping people.
On that note, I would really love an au of the film where Jane is still a nurse.

“Just taking a little blood.”
It only just occurred to me how utterly threatening that must sound when you've never watched E.R. Great fill. I love that Darcy and Erik are still a team and how awesome Jane is as a nurse.

“That is Dr. Marshall. He’s in charge here.” She nodded toward the grinner.
He drew his hand back after letting it linger at her chest a moment too long. “That, I very much doubt,” he said, and spared the man a dismissive glance.
*Giggles* I like it when Thor has these moments of insight. I guess that being the son of a King would make you fairly quick to pick up on power dynamics.

Jane came back into the exam room with a thick file folder in hand, and pulled a rolling stool up to Thor’s bedside. She sat down and began reading off to him the terms of a 72-hour psychiatric hold, and watched his eyes slowly glaze at the legalese

“Again with the skydiving. It was just the once,” she explained to Thor. “For a special occasion. Marj, I was just explaining Mr. Odinson’s rights on a 72-hour stay. How we can’t make him wear that very unattractive hospital gown instead of real clothes, for instance, or take his money or deny him a phone call, or force him to take meds

Nice. I like Thor being all reasonable and 'whatever you think is best, ma'am.'
It's really the best course of action for him too, since he's stuck on a strange World with no friends or money and by staying in the hospital he can get a feel for Mitgard, while having a roof over his head and food in his belly.

Hmm. I'm thinking that maybe Thor (being a thousand years old, give or take, and also a warrior) has been indoctrinated with a respect for medical personnel/healers. Now that eh recognises them as such, he's being all sweet and reasonable :)
