Hee! It's like a soap opera with good writing, which I thought was impossible. *g*
Yay! Thanks, hon. It's always nerve-wracking to enter a new fandom. No idea if I got the voices right, but that's probably not going to stop me from writing more. So glad you liked it!
Oh, I haven't told you? Yeah, apparently, when my boss told me that I'd be going back to my regular schedule once this once-a-week publishing nightmare was over, what he really meant was, "There's no more money for your position, so you're done at the end of the week."
I thought since I was the one writing the policy analysis week after week that he must have been doing grant proposals or marketing or something, but apparently not! I officially have no idea what my boss has been doing since January, since he sure as hell wasn't doing anything for the publication. [/bitterness]
At least I stayed long enough to get into grad school, but still. It's the principle of the matter! I thought I'd get to walk away, not be let go!
I posted!!! Whether I link to fic comms is another story. So glad you still loved it! You can assume I'm assigning appropriate amounts of blame to you for getting me started on this, lol.
OMG, I know! That pie chart might just be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. And a shadenfruede pie to celebrate the idiocy of the defense would not be remiss today. Because my god, some people. At least I'm being entertained at work.
I probably will, if only because I never know how to stop from humiliating myself in front of the masses. Send it! Oh my god, send it! I love your crazy crossovers, because they always end up being awesome! Also: farm animals!
This trial is seriously making me crack up in my office. I really wish I was in the gallery of that courtroom, because this is seriously epic hilarity. The stupidity of RDR's legal team makes me feel a lot better about not finishing law school, which is probably (sadly) their biggest accomplishment to date.
Ahahahaha...oh, um. Sorry? Hee, but that's good! It means the show does a good job of making their characters well-rounded. One more reason to love Greek!
Heh, yeah. A few weeks ago my boss wanted to talk about my schedule after this weekly run ends, and I thought I was simply going back to my old schedule. Um, not so much, as it turns out that there are no longer funds to keep me employed at all. So, yeah, being let go at the end of the week. Grr. I mean, I hated the job and all, but still. I thought I'd at least get to walk away, not be sent along, you know?
A couple more acceptances, so now it's between two schools. That's mostly where my life is at the moment since one school has an acceptance deadline of next week. And this weekend will be spent cooking for Passover (yummy!), so that's about it. How's the studying going, hon?
So, from what I'm reading, you're choosing between Melbourne and NYC. I think you probably already want to know where I would prefer you to go for my purely selfish reasons. LOL. So, I'm just going to stay out of it. You choose the right program for you. You already know what it's like when you're in a program that YOU HATE, so, :shrugs: If I have to rely on emails...then so be it. Which reminds me, did you get my last one?
I feel so disconnected from you! :cries: Gonna be on AIM any time soon? How about a phone chat? You call ME!
Studying is...going. Great thing is I remember all of it. Crap thing is...practice is slow. Le sigh. I must like be masochistic or something. :Focuses on why Resa wants to be a doctor:
We just won't speak about him. *nods* And after this week, he won't be a problem anymore.
Heh, yeah, there's a lot of people-issues that make NYC the better option, so that's definitely in the "pro" column. Yeah, exactly, I can't handle a repeat of law school again, so this has to be really thought out. I did! Sorry for not replying, I came home and sort of crashed yesterday.
I know!!! *wails* I haven't been around for, what, two weekends? Well, like I said, after this week, the insane job that makes me hate the computer won't be an issue anymore. Oh man, I am so bad about staying in touch with people, it's not funny. Sigh. I'll definitely be around Friday night, although we're having a seder Saturday, so probably not then.
Hee! Yes, remember that masochistic tendencies are necessary to survive medical school. And also, you want to help people and stuff.
I really, really, really need to watch this show! And write fic for it! That was awesome, and it didn't matter that I didn't know anyone:) Great writing as usual hon! I forgot how much I miss reading you! ♥
Yes you do! Last night there was a frat war that included a menagerie of farm animals (including cows!) being let loose in one of the houses. Tell me that doesn't sound awesome?
Yay! Write fic! Hee, I'm glad the characters came across even if you didn't know them. Aww, thank you! I missed writing! This show is a new happy place. Let me know what you think once you've seen a few episodes!
BTW, the Torchwood finale is why I need to read spoilers! How could they do that?!?!?!
Bwah! I've spent most of the year bitching and moaning about this job, and you should know by now my remarkably lackluster work ethic, lol.
Oh, question about Melbourne: what do students usually pay for a shared apartment/house? I need to factor in costs-of-living into grad school calculations, and I don't get the sense that College Square represents the typical housing market.
Depends on where you find a place:I pay roughly 400 a month where I live, but that's in a suburb, and the reason why it's that low is because my housemates got it a few years ago, and there's a limit on how much the owners can up the rent until they find new tenants. The going rate right now is 175-200 per week.

This was awesome, by the way. I have no idea who these characters are but I'm so so so interested!!!! Plus, your writing sort of rocks.

You already know I love this.
And hee, I'm all about the SVA/RDR vs. JKR wank. Did you see the pie chart?! OMG, how is it possible to fail that hard.

It is kickass! Seriously, JKR *pwns* the universe and I cannot believe this actually went to trial. How, how, how is it possible to be that stupid?

I don't know how I feel about that.

What is going on? Letting go from Job? More acceptances to Grad School? Clearly, I haven't caught up on your life. What's up with you Chica?
