My boss is wandering around the office, humming a jaunty tune. Help me!

So. New Amsterdam. It is...not long for the world. Could have been better, wasn't as bad as I feared, but Fox is giving it the Drive treatment (yes, I am still bitter about that, thankyouverymuch!) and airing too many episodes in too few days. I doubt the American Idol lead- ( Read more... )

Haha, for marathons. I'm watching the Project Runway marathon on Bravo. I should be packing...but...yeah...*shakes head*

I didn't watch New Amsterdam, cause I might have been watching some teen soap on the CW (*cough*), but my flist seems to reflect your thoughts on it as well. The concept has been done better by other shows, and it just falls flat in execution here. Fox never knows what to do with its programs though. Surprisingly, The Sarah Conner Chronicles turned out to be pretty good, but Fox has a bad record for canceling Summer Glau shows :P

Anyway, may your boss continue his humming...:D

Oh, that's right! You're moving like, crazy-soon. Seriously, why pack and save yourself the headache and drama of panicking at the last minute when there's TV that needs to be watched? I totally understand. :)

Hee, I won't even ask about the CW (though, I guess congrats on SPN getting renewed? Another year of pretty boys and wanky behavior to come!). That was exactly NA's problem, the concept had been done in enough other variations -- and better, although it had its moments -- that it felt like a rehash. Summer Glau just wasn't enough of a draw for me when it aired, but is SCC worth downloading and binging on? Fox has a bad record of canceling shows any Joss Whedon actor is in.

All is quiet on the western front...

Your boss needs to freaking DO ACTUAL work than walk around humming a "jaunty" tune.

You need to be freed. LOL.

That show looked kinda interesting, but I was in a piano practice room trying to learn how to play Clair De Lune. So far, first page has been learned and the second page has been scrutinized. (6 pages overall). So slow going at best. :looks wistfully at youth at the ridiculous ease I could sight read:

Heh. And guess who, once again, has done the big analytical piece this week? Sigh. Grad school applications are almost finished.

It was interesting, and it certainly had enough decent moments to show that it could be better, but I doubt anything will come of it. Aww, you'll learn it. Maybe once you exercise your sight-reading skills again, they'll start coming back? Yay for playing music again!

You should be paid so much more. Tell me you got your paycheck. PLEASE.

If not, I'm sending you chocolate. And fun stuff. LOL.

You gonna be on later?

Yes! One good thing, right? Of course, it's going to be the same problem next pay period, so hopefully he'll get the second signature before dangling my paycheck in front of my nose.

I'm going to try to re-install AIM before getting on, so I'll post here if something, you know, goes wrong.

I've never even heard of the show. Just how far out of the fannish loop am I?

Your boss is crazy. But you already knew that. I'm trying to brainstorm things to tell my boss about why it looks like nothing got done this week. Somehow I don't think "the temps can't spell" will be a valid reason.

Sigh.

I kept seeing the promos during American Idol (NO JUDGMENT) and it looked like the kind of show I'd be into, but...yeah. It's like some weird cross between Angel and Criminal Intent, but without either shows' positive qualities.

My boss is insane, but he wrote me very nice letters of recommendation, so now I feel kind of bad for complaining. Not enough to stop, mind you. No, I don't think "the temps can's spell" is a good excuse. It might be true, but it's not something you want to say to your boss.

So, I read in the paper today that Amerial Idol had 80's night. How was it? Anything worth YouTubing? Don't get me wrong, this is not a sign for you to suck me in to the world that is Idol (because you know for me, after Kelly Clarkson, it all went downhill) but I just love 80s songs!!

Your boss is nuts!

Hee, yes, it was 80s week, and it was such a hot mess that it's awesome. It's not about watching for talent anymore (Melinda last season was an aberration), it's about watching for the train wrecks and the people who might have a decent pop album. As far as who to bother youtubing, Carly Smithson, David Cook, and Jason Castro had the "best" (totally subjective) performances this week. If you want total chaos, watch Danny Noriega. The rest of the pack was very blah this week. I wouldn't dream of trying to suck you into this...wanna start watching Ghost Hunters instead?

Please. Any goodwill I had for him yesterday is gone.
