I have yet to get season 10 icons, really, because I ignored them so as to be non-spoiled. I knew some basics about season 10, but had all sorts of goodies that I didn't know about.
I have a few SGA icons that are about episodes I've not seen-- I have a lot of catching up to d with that series. But it's not the same.

I loved Unending, I thought Daniel/Vala was a lovely pairing, and it wasn't out of the blue like some series like to do. It was just right.
On the topic of SGA, it is a different show, but there's a lot of the humour that SG-1 had which, I thought, made it such an excellent show. It takes itself a bit more seriously, but then McKay will step in and do something ridiculous to lighten the mood.
I'm anxious to see what (SPOILERS!) bringing in Sam will do to the show dynamic, I think she'll be a good addition.
You should definately watch it, though. I was a bit resistant at first, because it seemed like Sheppard was just a cheap O'Neill knockoff, but he's not. He's his own character, and I found that by the time season three rolled around I was really in love with a lot of them -- McKay, Ronan, even Sheppard :)

I need to give seasons 2-3 a good chance-- because I wasn't all that thrilled with the first seasons of SG1 at first watching, either!
In fact, Teal'c was my least favorite character -- or lease understood, for a while.

Until Teal'c started talking more, he wasn't my favourite either. Now they're kindof all my favourite :)

I think everyone-- the main actors and the recurring characters grww in their skills portraying each character.
We didn't see Cassie's original actor grow into her role...but what about Rya'c and Skaara. We saw those guys grow from around 10 in Rya'c's case, and from around 17ish in Skaara's.
I thought the young person who played Rya'c got better, and of course, obviously he had some great role models, and friends.
I am fairly sure when I start watching SGA more regularly, every 7-10 days or so, I'll feel more invested and involved.
