Oy! What's in Sky Whales? That's got to be the best title in the past couple of years . . .

SKY WHALES AND OTHER WONDERS is gonna be awesome, an anthology of general sense-of-wonder fiction basically, where in each story is intended to blow you away on some level. It is based around a story by Tanith Lee about flying pods of whales in alternate sfnal Ancient Egypt! :-)

Oh cool!! Who else is in it?

I just read 'Boojum' by Elizabeth Bear & Sarah Monette from the Fast Sails, Black Ships pirates anthology. It is metaphorically about a sky whale, kind of. Well, a space boojum. It was very cool, I guess I'll have to get the anthology. (The story was a free promo download.)

In addition to Tanith's story, some of confirmed authors who have turned in stories and are accepted are Mike Allen, Sonya Taaffe, Erzebet YellowBoy, Linda J. Dunn, Anna Tambour, and John Grant. There are many others in the middle of revisions and also who are still to turn in their stories.

Still ways to go! Stay tuned for more on this exciting anthology next year. :-)

Not at all, she's the sorceress. The swordswoman image will be on next year's cover.

I think it's more fun to alternate a magic wielder and a warrior from cover to cover. :-)
