Sometimes when I am working late through the night and the TV is on as random background noise (I glance at the screen occasionally to keep myself alive) this show called Dawson's Creek comes on.

Yeah, 11 or 12 year old prime-time soap for teens, basically. I'll admit to watching most? of the first season, but I stopped, and haven't looked back. I think I was mostly watching because James Van der Beek (if I recall the name correctly) was pretty cute as, well, I was 20.
