This line had me giggling 'mild case of Sverige face', but the sombre theme of the rest of the fic was just perfect. I also enjoyed the parables with type of coffee and the references to age.

This fic man. It's got just enough of everything: humor, seriousness, young vs old nations, Denmark's inner monologue vs Germany's. Love it.

"Who better to teach the young’uns than the old guys?"

Optimism indeed, Denmark. Not that I'd expect anything less from him. Loved the line about "faux-pas" and the reference to France. Loved it.

I'm feeling flashbacks to that fic by that Anon, 'Copenhagen', though mostly just because of similar characters/subject matter. Their voice for Denmark is a bit different from yours and I'm having fun taking a look at the similarities.

I think I remember you mentioning, while you were writing, that you were unsure about this one? Well, you certainly had nothing to worry about. Touchy time period/subject matter, but you handled it perfectly, I think.

...I'm too late to reply to the rest I think (is that awkward? how does fic etiquette work?) but...

Yeah I've read that one, so some of that might be bleeding through even though I tried not to let that happen but you know. They wrote it before Denmark had much characterization so it's kind of fun to mess with that.

I am unsure about anything involving WWII man, but that's good to know. Hmm maybe I'll tweak and post to my LJ. Someday. When I have energy and shit.

As far as I'm concerned, it's never too late to comment on any fic ever. Even fest fics. Heh, I've left comments on stuff years after... (and not to mention that it took me over a month to comment on everyone here). People love comments. Well, most people.

Hmm, true, true! I forgot that fic was written so long ago. Anyway, as I said, I guess most of the similarity is just because of situation, but eh.

To be honest, I think a certain amount of caution when writing about WWII is always good. Too many people go in the... other direction, of not having anywhere near enough caution. So.
