I applied to a number of MSc programs in Scotland last year, received several favourable replies, but had to defer a decision for personal reasons. As someone who did hard time at Glasgow Uni as an undergrad, and as a current Glasgow resident, I say Glasgow is lovely and wonderful, and Edinburgh is good as well, though very different in terms of feel. Also, looking at the Guardian league tables, Abertay's not highly ranked for IT, whereas Glasgow's in the top ten for geography/environmental sciences and Edinburgh is top ten for religious studies and #2 for sociology.
I suppose it really breaks down to what you most want to do with yourself and what you can afford.
(I may be additionally biased because Abertay advertises all the time on television and I'm sorta sick of the adverts...)

They do seem a little...odd in their presentation. I've shown their website to some of my friends here in the States, and people think the one guy with the "Arkansas" sports jersey who shows up repeatedly is hilarious.
