Twenty (Entirely True) Facts About Lily Luna Potter (As Told By Lily)
  1. I didn't do it.

  2. And if I had done it, which I didn't, it would be entirely James's fault anyway; I would hardly be carrying dungbombs at all, let alone in such quantity, and definitely not with Quick-Dye tinctures added, which is an incredibly complicated piece of magic I can't possibly be expected to have performed.

  3. And I've certainly never had sinister intentions in my entire life, thank you very much.

  4. You'll note that I'm not the Slytherin in the family, casting no aspersions.

  5. (Albus, you have always been my favourite brother, and I love you dearly.)

  6. Really, I think I'm a victim of a society that privileges my surname over my individuality and insists I perform to an arbitrary set of external standards that have no real basis in an existing reality but which help impose artificiality by fostering an atmosphere of bias and unwarranted expectation.

  7. Why, no, Aunt Hermione, I don't think I have read your sociology texts; why ever do you ask?

  8. You might well think that being a Chaser would allow to me calculate the timing and trajectories so perfectly, but I can assure you that I am still suffering the injuries of that entirely unprovoked bludger attack last week.

  9. You'll note that I'm not the Beater in the family, casting no aspersions.

  10. (James, you have always been my favourite brother, and I love you dearly.)

  11. Uncle Bill is always telling us about how dangerous experimental magic can be, and how incredibly reckless it would be to just throw things together to see what happened without proper testing, and I'm really quite sad that you'd think I would do that.

  12. I'm sure I don't know what happened to Grampa Arthur's shed; perhaps it was some Muggle device of his?

  13. Anyway, if you think about it, I would not only have had to find the time to somehow sneak out of incredibly well guarded school, but also to recognise each and every plant involved, harvest them correctly, store, and process them, all in the middle of a shared dorm, without anyone noticing anything.

  14. You'll note that I'm not the Herbology expert in the family, casting no aspersions.

  15. (Neville, you have always been my favourite Professor, and I love you dearly.)

  16. Now, I won't deny that when I was younger I might have been a little impatient, instead of forthright as I am now, and might have performed a few harmless pranks without giving enough thought to the consequences, but I think I have matured over the years.

  17. Having been taught by you all, I really believe I've learned to look under the surface for the deeper truths within and to not be blinded by common prejudice.

  18. What I'm trying to say is that there are certain essential truths, and part of that is that for all our differences, we are also equals, part and parcel of the whole, and that our bright and shiny land covers the still lingering stink of thousands of years of oppressive tradition that has made us divide ourselves up into a thousand different little camps forever clashing with each other, and not recognising that we actually are all necessary parts of a greater work that does not disdain, but rather celebrates our diversity, and that's what I think this "prank" -- this work -- would have meant, if I had done it.

  19. Which I didn't.

  20. (Anyway, I totally know how to do the counter-spell.)
