I hate how hard it is to find an apartment in a "good" area when you have a pit mix, even when the dog is super friendly and non-aggressive. Co-op living may be the only option. Or staying in our current apt, which would be fine if it wasn't on the expensive side and if the damn landlords would at least fix something on the list that we gave them ( Read more... )

I am so interested in living at the co-op but i'm shy and I get intimidated in new situations. I went to a potluck at wondermoth and everybody was really nice. You said you lived there at one point? Would you be willing to tell me more about it?

Any chance you could get a vet to say the dog's a boxer mix? Landlords would rather rent to supremacists than pit owners, which is ridiculous.

I lived at Plankton. Going to tonight's potluck at OWM though. Wanna go too? Everyone there is really really nice and they just got a baby! Or rather Mike and Angel who live there had a baby.

The boxer thing would work with my brother's dog, but not with mine... he's got the small beady pit eyes. I've just been going with a mix of some sort. When I lived on the West Side, people would ask me if he was part dalmation. Thinking about going with that-- dalmation-pit mix. Ha!

is plankton a lot different? I know it's in it's infancy compared to OWM. I loved the house and everybody did seem really nice, I just worry that i'd get settled in and they'd realize I wasn't a good mix or something.
I heard about the baby! That's so exciting. I am a nanny and i've always worked with kids, so the fact that there are two kids at OWM is a plus for me. On the flip side, I studied ASL for a couple semesters and one of the guys that lives at plankton is deaf, right? It'd be cool to get back into the habit of using it conversationally.

Once I know people, i'm fine. I just get really nervous when I meet new people, and it sucks because first impressions are important!

Would you consider going to the potluck again next week? I've got a hot date to go thrift shopping with my roommate tonight.

yeah, we'll probably try to go to the Wednesday potluck again. if you'd like we could meet up there and then afterwards walk to Plankton together. should be in time to catch the tail-end of their meeting.

plankton was really different, but it's currently undergoing some major changes in terms of people so it's hard to say how different it is or will be from OWM. and I've heard rumors that Anthony, the kid who's deaf, is moving.

anyways, time for the potluck. if you have any specific questions, just let me know. either leave me a note here or if you want to meet in person and talk about it, that's cool too.
