last night i submitted the last actual assignment for my library management class. it was actually comforting to hear that my other team members were having trouble with this assignment, too. one of my team members sent out a cry for help and i tried to help as best i could. i googled "library operational plan" and found a PDF from a school library and it was their operational plan. i used that as a rough guideline for what i should do. unfortunately, our ever thoughtful professor didn't provide examples of what he was looking for (he provided examples for all our other assignments). reading what was expected, it simply felt like we were simply repeating what we had already written in our strategic plan. anyway, i managed to write out what i think he was looking for. i broke down my overall goal into manageable objectives and even hand-drew (via Word) a timeline to illustrate when i expect the start/completion of the objectives. so yeah, i started it last friday and i was able to complete it last night. now, i've had really good luck with my grades up until now and i'm really hoping to continue that streak. it would be fantastic if i could finish this semester with straight A's. i haven't had straight A's in a really long time and it would feel really good if I can keep up the work to the very end of the semester. there are a few things i have left to do to really start to relax. the end, though, is very nigh...

within the last few months, i started receiving the
athleta catalog in the mail. i'm not sure why i started receiving this catalog. it's possible that i started getting it from buying my bike or one of the many bike-related equipment i've bought in the last 6 months. in any case, i haven't really paid much attention to it. i'd give it a quick glance and then throw it in the bin, but 2 catalogs ago, i started looking at what they had to offer a little closer. there were a number of things in there that i really liked. the downside is that they're ALL $50+. even the smallest item costs no less than $30. it's definitely not some place i would constantly shop with, but i saw something that i liked...swimsuits. i haven't owned a really nice swimsuit in a long time. i remember buying a roxy one years ago which i absolutely adored. it sadly ended up being the oil rag of an ex-boyfriend. i bought another roxy suit and that lasted me for quite a while. it was either last year or the year before, i started to feel a little less confident wearing it in public. i decided to buy another suit. i didn't have the foresight to go shopping for a swimsuit and i just couldn't find one i really liked. i ended up going with an old navy suit, which has never fit quite right and i never really felt comfortable wearing it.
i looked through this catalog, though, and found some really cool suits. i understood that purchasing a suit from athleta would be really expensive. the thing is, though, i've realized with past purchases, you really get what you pay for when you spend more on a swimsuit than not. both my roxy suits were expensive, but they lasted me for a REALLY long time and they were super comfortable and i felt good in them. the $20 suit i got from old navy just never fit and didn't feel like it was well-made. so, yesterday i decided to take the plunge and buy a suit from athleta. i found one i liked, but it turned out it was specifically for those who have large breasts. the smallest top they had fit a 34C and i'm smaller than that (too small to buy it and try to fit into it). luckily the bottoms i liked were available in all sizes, so i had to find a different top that matched the bottoms. in the end, i decided on
this top with
these bottoms (in black). yes, i spent more than i have before on a swimsuit, but i have high hopes for the quality of the product and how long it will last me. i've been in bikini's for the last 9 years, but i haven't been comfortable in one for a while now. i'm not a fan of single-piece suits and i really liked the look of the tankini's i've found. they look comfortable and flattering for all body types. i'm looking forward to seeing how this fits.

this friday will mark the first full month i've been working out regularly. next week i plan on changing up my weight training. there are some things i'm going to keep and up the reps and weight and there are some other things i'm going to change. watching the biggest loser has given me a lot of tips on what i can do with my weight training. i also think that for some routines, i'll start doing reps-per-time, instead of 3 reps of 15 i'll do as many i can in a certain amount of time. i'll work up a sweat and bring my heart rate up, which is what i'm lacking in my weight training right now. after marshall's triathlon, i plan on changing around my workout routine slightly and adding more on-road bike rides. i'm only doing 1 right now and since the weather is keeping up, i'm going to add another and remove one of my trainer days.
i haven't actually lost any weight since i've started working out. in fact i've gained a couple of pounds. i've noticed other beneficial results, though. my muscle tone in my legs has returned and i've trimmed down in my thighs. marshall has told me my tummy is flattening slightly. i also have more energy and i'm feeling a little more sexy. i'm trying not to let the weight gain not get to me. i don't weigh myself everyday, just once a week. it's hard not to ignore the scale, though. i'm trying really hard to focus on how i'm feeling instead.
