Anyone know of herbs sacred to Hephaestus? My boyfriend is into the Greek Gods, I'm an herbalist, but can't find any info on this.

patron deities, herbalism

Well Haphaestus is the god of metulurgy and smithcraft as well as volcanos and fire in general. I would go with herbs that signify the fire element such as rosemary. Hawthorn in particular is associated with Vulcan/Hephaestus and the celestial fire. Possibly fleabane.

The incense listed at the head of the Orphic Hymn to Hephaistos is "powdered frankincense". I don't remember seeing any of the other hymns specifying "powdered", so I suspect that's significant. Perhaps the powder would burst into flame when tossed into a brazier?
