Emergency preparedness GO.

Oct 30, 2007 20:16

Okay, so, the SoCal kids got to do this last week, now it's Northern California's turn. I'm fine, the 5.6 earthquake didn't touch us, the 2.9 before it was pretty much right under us but did nothing except make us go 'whoa hey what'. If there are any further quakes (and, um, let's hope there aren't! or that they are teeny) I will try to check in. ( Read more... )

*hugs a lot!* It looks like after the 5.9 quake everyone got on their cell phones to inform everyone else they were okay, and the cell network went KAFUMP. Which is one of the problems with having an emergency contact within the state, but Sar no longer is, so hooray! (Really Amy should be my contact, she is the least likely to have exciting nature-related catastrophes in her area. Except possibly being attacked by birds all Hitchcock-style.)

Thanks for checking up on me. <3

I'm having a crazy week (it's hell week for Closer) but I'm glad you're okay! I'll check my various forms of communication, totally call me/text me/email me/whatever if something happens or you need anything, I'll be around. Also you can always call my folks. (Do you have my home number still? Do you need it?)

*hugs loads!* I do have your home phone, and your mom's cell number. Next time I see you on I'll double-check to make sure they're still right. (Also I've been wanting to do something for your parents - are there birthdays/anniversaries coming up? I feel like I've never thanked them properly for letting me stay over.)

Good luck with all of your crazy crazy stuff this week! I know you are buried. Oh, hey, and Happy Halloween! <3

I love you dearest, so I'm going to tell you what my mommy told me (and while I'm not entirely positive if I've told you all of the details of how she's psychic, but trust me, she is, and I'll fill you in later if you don't know the stories because they're creepy) about earthquakes this coming year: There is probably going to be a reallly big one in March or April on the Hayward (?). She thinks there won't be too much loss of life, but that it will be very disruptive. STAY AWAY FROM UNSECURED ITEMS ON HIGH SHELVES IN MARCH/APRIL. I like you too much for you to get smooshed by an avalanche of books. I can give you all sorts of reasons why my mother is probably actually right, but I'll spare the rest of these people and merely warn you. I'm glad you're OK, though :)

Aw. Well thank you for the warning! I should move my desk, actually, somehow I ended up next to a bookshelf and there are BOOKS LOOMING OVER MY HEAD. There's nothing that could fall on my bed, though, unless things across the room become projectiles, in which case I have bigger problems to worry about.

Also! *points to your icon* Your hair! It has gone a new color! Is that a new default look for you? It's neat!
