Another person might say something like that, and have actually thought about their 'you' perhaps half the day (the other half given over to work duties, other people, zombies, etc).
With Lex and his awesome cleverness? It's probably closer to 95% of the day (there was that brief period in the afternoon where he was thinking more about Martha's pie, but that just circled right back to Clark afterwards, as did the late afternoon visions of world domination (which naturally led to thoughts of dominating a certain superhero who would most likely thwart him. Lex likes being thrwarted).
I like being thwarted too.nonotthatoneNovember 23 2009, 18:40:41 UTC
Lex had, of course, a super-active mind. This was a basic requirement for supervillainy, and needless to say Lex met it with ease.
He had also always been obsessed with Clark. That went without saying. Ever since he’d opened his eyes to that face, he’d never been able to get it out of his mind.
Back then he’d let it take on the onus of a question, a mystery to be solved: Who is Clark Kent? What is he hiding? Why won’t he trust me?
Does he want me?
Can I make him?But as the truth will out, even the answers to those questions never put Lex’s need for Clark to rest. It became easier once he admitted that; acceptance quieted the primal screaming to a more bearable hum. Clark continued to run like an undercurrent through his every thought, but it no longer troubled him. In a way, it was comforting - or even amusing to discover all the ways Clark could contrive to cross his mind

Lips nibble at his neck and Lex sighs at the lovely bit of pressure before recalling his mind to the task at hand. He tries to push Clark's head away, but it won't budge. Damn alien strength, anyway

I've thought about you all day.
I am so easy; but this is the hottest pickup line of all time.

I think my word of the day might have to be unfurled.
I also love the visual on this: To thoughts of Clark’s mouth, sticky-sweet with tastings stolen in the orchard’s benevolent shadows.
Thank you, ma'am, may I have another?

I love that he thinks of the truth as a trick. And I love how it works.
I also love you, you know.
