I loved your post and was about to comment LENGTHILY and then I watched that first vid and I just can't. I feel like that show, as imperfect as it was in many ways that frustrated me over the last four years, was practically everything I needed, in the end and across years.

I feel almost sick with affection for them and desperate sadness at what they've lost and I need to come back and talk more with you about the things you wrote (and watch the others) when I'm less upset.

Fabulous vid, I'm so glad you linked it, and I know I'll watch it again and again. Just. No more tonight.

Such deep sadness in me over it and I can't really bear all my feelings; I was fine a minute ago, but somehow seeing them over time like that just killed me.

Okay, I didn't give that first video a chance before because Taylor Swift, but now I watched it and, yeah. Tears.

RIGHT? How good is it. I had seen the gifset that inspired it, and loved that, but I didn't know the song at all- when I looked it up and saw it was TSwift I was all ~affronted. But I have probably watched that video 50 times.

I knowwwww! Wasn't going to reread the Mary Stewart novels because I know they're sad, but. Now I want to again.

Haha, you and me, both! I had seen and loved that gifset before and then when I found out it was TSwift lyrics, I felt weird about liking the gifset. BUT I DON'T CARE ANYMORE! TAYLOR SWIFT WON'T RUIN THIS FOR ME!

When I was 12 I saw "Merlin of the Crystal Cave" and then read the Mary Stewart Arthurian novels, then consequently every other Merlin and Arthur book that existed. Pretty much. Not really exaggerating much there. So I was all "BUT THEY'RE DOING IT WRONG" when I heard about the BBC show. But several friends convinced me, and I actually started watching it this summer after reading fic for it. And once I started, omg was I hooked.

YOU ARE EXACTLY ME.

Also, I could have done with an entire YEAR'S worth of what was in the last 30 minutes. ALL the reactions to magic and talks about FEELINGS. All. of. them.

I also saw an episode where Bradley said he didn't like how Arthur seemed to forget his character development episode to episode, which, while sad, I'm glad that he REALIZED that that's what was happening.

Four for you, Bradley. Four for you.

I need fic recs. I need them. Oh balls, here I go crying again.

RIGHT?!?!?!? Like, okay there are some shows that string you along and then when the reveal/get-together happens, the show is essentially over. But HOW MUCH could they have done with Merlin and Arthur (and all of Camelot) working through the magic reveal??? OMG THERE ARE LEGIONS OF POSSIBILITIES. for reals. Sigh.

I actually really love how they did it on Dexter - Debra finally found out her bro was a serial killer and THE ENTIRE SEASON was full of CHATS and ANGST and MISTRUST and LOVE and FEELS. It was like a fanfic.

I wanted that with Merlin.

And then the POLITICS that could have been involved! KJBGKJEBGEJKBEG

My favorite fic will always be Accidental Memory in the Case of Death because destiny and also feels.
